Look no further for a campground for your next group event!
Just 18km south of Whitecourt on Hwy 32 towards Edson, the Groat Creek recreation area is located along side beautiful Groat Creek.
The site functions as both a snowmobile staging area in the winter months and a group campground during the summer months.
You can hit the trails in the winter on your snowmobile or go on a wilderness hike in the summer months.
The group camping/staging area hosts a new cook shelter with a woodstove and power via generator hook-up, group fire pit, wood shed and out house facilities.
The camping loop has 6 back-in sites and 4 drive in/pull-off sites all with their own picnic table and fire ring.
Site amenities include:
- Snowmobile Staging area in the winter with access to the Golden Triangle snowmobile trails
- Group camping in the summer – 10 sites, (6 back-in sites and 4 drive in/pull-off sites)
- All sites have their own picnic table and fire ring
- Cook shelter with a woodstove and power via generator hook-up
- Group fire pit area
- Washrooms

We have an exciting announcement!
We have recently switched our booking system to Let’s Camp Reservation Software. For you, this means, starting January 5, 2026, you’ll be able to book your campsite online and make any changes to your booking if your plans change. If you’re travelling to other campgrounds using Let’s Camp, you’ll have one convenient login to manage everything.

On January 5, 2026, when we open for bookings, visit Groat Creek Campground booking page to make a reservation.
- Select your site using the interactive map and click “Book this site.”
- You can add your payment details and add ons to your reservation.
- Once you’ve confirmed your booking, you’ll be able to see it in your camper profile here. You’ll also get an email from Let’s Camp with your receipt.
Once you've created your account, you can check out their reservation support videos, taking you through each step.

$450.00/weekend (Friday/Saturday night) with a maximum 7-night stay. Price includes firewood.
Additional nights stay to a corresponding weekend are $200/night.
$200.00/day for Day Use (Monday to Thursday) from 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
